Requirements of the Family Medicine Physician:

1. Must have a Medical Degree from an accredited institution
2. Must have a New York State Medical license
3. Must have a New York State Medical Board Certification
4. Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience is preferred
5. OB|GYN experience is a plus but not required

Schedule of the Family Medicine Physician:

This is a full-time position.

Benefits of the Family Medicine Physician:

1. The salary for this position is $210,000 | yr
2. Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance which has a bi-weekly employee cost of $30|pay period for a single plan and $60|pay period for a family plan.

Responsibilities of the Family Medicine Physician:

1. Provide medical care to pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients.
2. Take relevant patient history.
3. Identify patient needs and make diagnoses.
4. Perform complete well-care examinations, including complete physicals.
5. Perform complete gynecological histories and physical examinations as indicated.
6. Write prescriptions and inform patients about medications prescribed.
7. Complete medical forms and documentation related to patient care.
8. Answer patient telephone inquiries as needed.
9. Make referrals to other agencies and providers, with follow-up care provided.
10. Assist with immunization and phlebotomy as needed to ensure smooth patient flow.
11. Encourage health promotion, disease prevention, and health maintenance. Provide health education on topics including preventative medicine and counseling on chronic diseases, as well as parenting, prenatal, nutrition, family planning, medication usage, and stress management.
12. Provide patient advocacy, as appropriate for the site.
13. Work in a supervisory role with mid-levels and collaboratively with specialists for consultation and referral purposes.
14. Participate in the Peer Review process.
15. Provide technical assistance and teach Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants.
16. Maintain ultimate responsibility for directing the course of the patient's medical treatment.
17. Participate in case conferences and case management activities.
18. Participate in the On-Call list, on a rotation basis.

Administrative|Education Duties:

1. Participate in quality improvement activities.
2. Participate and develop medical protocols with Clinical Guidelines Committee, for implementation.
3. Collaborate with Benefits Counselors and Outreach staff to ensure appropriate patient scheduling and flow.
4. Collaborate with the HIM supervisor to ensure appropriate documentation procedures.
5. Observe, implement, and promote federal regulations as defined by HIPAA and the Policies and Procedures of the hospital.
