We’re looking for a Procurement Specialist who is energized by building structure and driving cost efficiencies through smart procurement and excited to revamp and mature Vendasta’s procurement program with a focus on software and services. In this role, you’ll play a key part in helping small and medium-sized businesses succeed—while shaping the future of AI for local economies.

Your Impact

As a Procurement Specialist you'll work with cross-functional teams across R&D, Tech, Finance, and internal stakeholders to:

- Support stakeholder needs analysis, vendor sourcing, and lead competitive benchmarking or RFP processes.
- Manage procurement contracts and renewals, ensuring risk mitigation and pricing alignment with Vendasta’s goals.
- Drive cost control and optimization through data analysis, negotiation, and vendor performance management.
- Champion procurement best practices and help mature our procurement processes, including preparation for PO system implementation. Foster strong vendor relationships while holding vendors accountable to commitments and performance standards.

What You Bring to the Table

You bring 1–3 years of experience in procurement, vendor management, or contract administration, ideally with exposure to SaaS or technology procurement. Your strong communication and negotiation skills enable you to manage both vendors and internal stakeholders confidently—even in ambiguous environments. You're independent, proactive, and not afraid to challenge the status quo when you see opportunities to improve.

Must-have:

- Post-secondary education in business, finance, supply chain, or a related field
- Proven ability to work independently and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Familiarity with contract terms, vendor management, and stakeholder alignment
- Proficiency in Google Workspace and Excel/Sheets

Nice-to-have:

- Experience with procurement software/tools
- Understanding of contract legal/financial terms
- Exposure to vendor security and compliance (e.g., Vanta, SOC 2)
- Background or certification in supply chain/procurement (e.g., SCMP, ASCM)
