Senior Structural Project Manager

CBD Maguire's Transportation Engineering Division is seeking a seasoned professional to lead our team of structural engineers. This key role will be responsible for overseeing the completion of complex transportation structure projects, while driving innovation and technical expertise within our Structures Department.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, business development, and leadership. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading major, local, and regional transportation structure projects as the primary Project Manager
  • Developing and maintaining client relationships through effective communication and technical guidance
  • Mentoring and guiding engineering staff to ensure their growth and success
  • Collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams, including roadway, traffic, water, planning, and other departments
  • Managing project scope, schedule, and budget, ensuring timely completion and cost-effectiveness
  • Preparing and reviewing complex structural analysis and design calculations, geometric layouts, construction specifications, and material quantity calculations
  • Overseeing bridge and structural tasks throughout project development, including plan and report production
  • Participating in industry organizations to stay up-to-date on best practices and emerging trends

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in transportation/bridge project management and structural engineering
  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering; Master's degree preferred, Professional Engineer (PE) license in Massachusetts or ability to obtain within 6 months, SE certification a plus
  • Proven track record of developing and maintaining successful client relationships
  • Familiarity with MassDOT design manuals, procedures, specifications, standards, computer programs, and applicable design codes
  • Knowledge of AASHTO LRFD, AISC, ACI, REMA, and other North American design codes
  • Experience designing multiple bridge types in concrete and steel
  • Thorough understanding of staged construction analysis
  • Proficiency in structural engineering software packages, including MDX, Con-Span, RC-Pier, and STAAD
  • Experience with preferred engineering client design software, such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, Mathcad, etc.
  • Background in Design-Build (D/B) and Accelerated Bridge Construction (ABC) project delivery
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team environment
