Responsibilities

- Develop mechanical system design solutions based on engineering principles
- Provide technical support to internal and external customers
- Ensure all relevant regulatory and client requirements are met
- Ensure all initiatives and processes are in conformance with the Company’s established policies and corporate priorities
- Interpret client requirements, identify and address design parameters and engineering problems and ensure solutions are implemented accurately and within budget
- Analyze project requirements and perform technical calculations supporting the design
- Create and finalize designs to meet project requirements
- Specify system components to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications
- Commission customized products and systems in house and at customer facilities
- Maintain complete confidentiality pertaining to any company business
- Comply with established rules, procedures and Health & Safety Policy mandates and report any non-compliance
- Familiarize and adhere to all company policies as detailed in the Company Policy Manual
- Other tasks, projects and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Engineering Manager

Duties Include

- Develop, evaluate and implement innovative technical solutions
- Provide technical advice to in-house and external clients
- Participate directly in the design and development of technical projects
- Participate directly in the engineering work of the department
- Maintain accurate records and files according to Company standards
- Complete tasks on time and within budget or notify the Engineering Manager of an alternative plan
- Work additional hours as necessary and with the approval of the Engineering Manager, to complete a job within the project timeline

Requirements

- Post-secondary college diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Designer in a multi discipline engineering environment
- Strong fundamental knowledge of mechanical design and its application
- Sound knowledge of detailing practices
- Strong planning, organizational and time management skills
- Proficient in SolidWorks software and MS Office
- Critical thinking with exceptional problem-solving skills
- Able to handle multiple projects and activities simultaneously
- Able to work independently or in a team environment
- Demonstrate a high level of integrity and trust
- Demonstrate composure under pressure
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to use and wear personal protective equipment as required
