Responsibilities:

• Develop mechanical system design solutions based on engineering principles
• Provide technical support to internal and external customers
• Ensure all relevant regulatory and client requirements are met
• Ensure all initiatives and processes are in conformance with the Company's established policies and corporate priorities
• Interpret client requirements, identify and address design parameters and engineering problems and ensure solutions are implemented accurately and within budget
• Analyze project requirements and perform technical calculations supporting the design
• Create and finalize designs to meet project requirements
• Specify system components to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications
• Commission customized products and systems in house and at customer facilities
• Maintain complete confidentiality pertaining to any company business
• Comply with established rules, procedures and Health & Safety Policy mandates and report any non-compliance
• Familiarize and adhere to all company policies as detailed in the Company Policy Manual
• Other tasks, projects and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Engineering Manager

Duties Include:

• Develop, evaluate and implement innovative technical solutions
• Provide technical advice to in-house and external clients
• Participate directly in the design and development of technical projects
• Participate directly in the engineering work of the department
• Maintain accurate records and files according to Company standards
• Complete tasks on time and within budget or notify the Engineering Manager of an alternative plan
• Work additional hours as necessary and with the approval of the Engineering Manager, to complete a job within the project timeline

Requirements

• Post-secondary college diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years' experience as a Designer in a multi discipline engineering environment
• Strong fundamental knowledge of mechanical design and its application
• Sound knowledge of detailing practices
• Strong planning, organizational and time management skills
• Proficient in SolidWorks software and MS Office
• Critical thinking with exceptional problem solving skills
• Able to handle multiple projects and activities simultaneously
• Able to work independently or in a team environment
• Demonstrate a high level of integrity and trust
• Demonstrate composure under pressure
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to use and wear personal protective equipment as required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00-$34.00 per hour
