About BHP Potash – Jansen
The Jansen project in Saskatchewan, Canada is set to become one of the largest potash mines in the world and is located approximately 140 kilometres east of Saskatoon. As the largest investment in Saskatchewan’s history, Jansen is expected to generate approximately 5,500 workforce opportunities during construction and 900 long‑term roles.
Once fully ramped up, Jansen is expected to have an initial production capacity of approximately 8.5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa), with the potential to produce 16 to 17 Mtpa in future stages. To find out more about Potash and the Jansen project, click here.

Work Location
This role will be based at the Jansen Mine Site located in Leroy, SK. The work schedule for this role will be seven days on, seven days off. For those not living locally, BHP provides relocation assistance to the local Jansen area. Alternatively, you can enjoy the convenience and comfort of our onsite camp accommodation at Discovery Lodge during your shifts.
BHP offers domestic relocation assistance to support the successful incumbent in transitioning, if required. Benefits offered as part of the relocation program include (but are not limited to) new home purchase assistance, temporary accommodations, home finding trip and a resettlement allowance.
Purpose

About the Role
- Supervise operational activities to enable the delivery of continuous safe operations.
- Ensure safe, quality work execution of trades and contractors.
- Promotes compliance of work instruction and operational procedures.
- Drive business improvement through the measurement of BHP’s performance.
- Translate corporate objectives into actionable plans, communicating, managing and analyzing the implementation of those plans, and reporting back on their progress to facilitate the delivery of our strategy.
- Identify and assess risks, make risk‑informed decisions, use BHP’s risk management framework and build a risk‑aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes.
- Conduct routine operational and safety meetings to effectively prepare for and manage operational workload.
- Evaluate safety and operational performance and drive changes to maximise safety, cost and volume performance through processes, equipment and technology initiatives.
- Embed practices/tools that enable teams to proactively identify improvement opportunities and detect deviations within daily mining and production activities across a site.
About You
- Prior experience leading a team or training experience is recommended.
- Red Seal Certification (Trade roles).
- Demonstrated experience in managing teams and overseeing projects.
- Aptitude for building and maintaining strong relationships.
