Accountant - Entry Level

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant - Entry Level to join our team in North York, Ontario. In this long-term contract position, you will play a vital role in supporting the accounting department by handling essential financial tasks and ensuring the accuracy of records. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience and contribute to the success of a dynamic organization in the construction/contractor industry.Responsibilities:- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.- Perform data entry for financial records, ensuring all transactions are properly documented in accounting systems.- Assist in reviewing billing files and implementing rent adjustments as needed.- Prepare and post monthly recurring journal entries, including payroll, accruals, and prepaid expenses.- Conduct monthly reconciliations for bank accounts and credit card statements.- Support the preparation of year-end accounting files for audit purposes.- Maintain and reconcile accounts receivable aging reports, including posting receipt batches in Yardi.- Utilize accounting software to ensure accurate coding of transactions and updates to financial records.- Collaborate with team members to address additional accounting-related tasks as required.- Possess a certificate or diploma in accounting with 1-2 years of relevant experience.- Familiarity with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes is essential.- Experience within the seniors housing or residential real estate industries is an asset.- Proficiency in using Yardi Voyage or similar accounting software is preferred.- Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.- Ability to perform account reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records.- Knowledge of ERP solutions and accounting software systems is advantageous.Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
