Position Overview

This role ensures all conditions related to the preparation and expedition of development agreements and land transfers are met. You will coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, maintain records, and provide administrative support as necessary.


Responsibilities
  • Successful completion of a two (2) Year Community College Diploma in Legal Assistant or suitable equivalent.
  • Minimum of three (3) years related experience, preferably in a municipal environment.
  • Ability to read and understand surveys, reference plans, and various legal documents related to land transfer/mortgages.
  • Ability to deal effectively and courteously with the public and staff.
  • Proficient keyboarding/computer skills, records management skills, and a thorough working knowledge of database and word processing software applications.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and oral/written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the Registry/Land Titles procedures.
  • Knowledge in Electronic Registration Procedures Guide (EREG) for Teraview with the ability to interpret results.
  • Ability and willingness to attain a Personal Security License by the Province of Ontario for the use of Teranet.
  • General understanding of development agreements.
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated ability in the City's core competencies as well as relevant departmental functional competencies.
