Purpose

The Payroll and HR Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate payroll and benefits processes, while providing essential support to the HR and Talent functions with various tasks and projects. The Payroll and HR Coordinator will have meticulous attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively with employees regarding payroll, benefits and HR-related matters.

Responsibilities:

1. Respond to internal and external HR related inquiries or requests and provide assistance or redirect appropriately.
2. Support the bi-weekly payroll process, including reviewing, auditing and validating pay-related employee changes, Time & Attendance, TAFW and ensuring accuracy in data, act as a backup for Sr. Payroll Specialist.
3. Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee change records in the HRIS, ensuring data integrity.
4. Coordinate benefits administration, including enrollments/terminations, deductions and contributions, changes, and communication with benefits providers.
5. Facilitate the administration of internal people processes, including preparation of letters, employment verifications, internal control forms, etc. to support hiring, job changes and exits.
6. Complete monthly, quarterly, annual reporting requirements including running ad hoc reports and analyzing data as required.
7. Support/lead various HR and Payroll projects and initiatives including meetings, interviews, HR Events, training sessions or seminars, Town Hall meetings.
8. Support/lead orientation, onboarding, exit interviews, employee feedback sessions etc.
9. Other tasks or duties as required.

Skills, Experience and Education:

1. Bachelor's degree or diploma in HR required.
2. Minimum 2 years experience in HR and Payroll.
3. Familiarity with payroll software and HRIS systems (Ceridian Dayforce) considered an asset.
4. Basic understanding of the Employee Standards Act.
5. Some knowledge of Canadian and US tax regulations and compliance requirements considered an asset.
6. Curiosity and learning agility to grow within the team.
7. Exceptional interpersonal communication skills.
8. Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
9. High level of integrity with ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.
10. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
11. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
12. This is an on-site role (5 days a week).
