Location: Remote, with occasional in-person events in Ottawa Commitment: Part-time, flexible hours Overview: This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity. Directors and Coordinators are expected to put in a minimum of 6 hours per week and be responsive to emails within 36 hours. Ottawa Dog Rescue seeking a Fundraising Coordinator to develop and execute fundraising strategies that directly impact our ability to care for dogs in our foster network and help them find forever homes. Responsibilities: - Develop and execute annual fundraising plans, including revenue and expense forecasts. - Create innovative fundraising campaigns, events, and initiatives to maximize revenue. - Research and apply for grants; identify strategic partnership opportunities. Event Coordination: - Plan and execute signature fundraising events, collaborating with the Events and Fundraising teams. - Manage all aspects of events, including vendor negotiations, logistics, and participant experiences. - Develop sponsorship materials, pitch decks, and manage sponsor and participant pipelines. - Lead all event auctions, including gift-in-kind solicitation, auction software management, and item organization. Donor Relations: - Cultivate relationships with donors, sponsors, partners, and community leaders. - Assist leadership with donor meetings and sponsorship pitches. - Manage donor tracking, stewardship, and post-event participant surveys. - Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers for fundraising and event-related roles. Requirements: - Experience in fundraising or a related field. - Strong communication and relationship-building skills. - Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects. - Passion for animal welfare.
