Coordinate communications and stewardship activitiescoordinate activities with the Marketing Coordinator to develop fundraising plans, grant applications, newsletters, e-news and other donor correspondenceregularly take and download photos and videos of wildlife patientsresearch options and requirements for developing a capital building fund, and develop a proposed planexplore options to promote planned giving and third-party fundraisingenhance and deliver stewardship and donor recognition communicationsdevelop case for support, new donor welcome package and other fundraising resourcesresearch and solicit in-kind donations of goods and servicesassist with events and community outreach activitiesassist with website content updatesrespond to and track inquiries from donors and potential supportersprepare and distribute tax receipts and thank you letterscoordinate the distribution of newsletters, direct mail, e-news and other communicationsmanage donor files, Paypal and CanadaHelps data, and Donor Perfect database, including data entry and verificationreceive and process donationsrun regular queries, reports, and excel exports and importsconduct regular donor and campaign analysesOther dutiesmaintain recordsprepare verbal and written reports to managementOther related duties as requiredThese jobs are made possible under the Canada Summer Jobs program. To be eligible under the program, youth must:be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment*; and,have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.International students are not eligible participants.Qualificationsa well-equipped home office, including computer and internet accessreliable transportation to our facility in North Gower for occasional meetings (there is no public transit available)enrollment in a post-secondary institution in fundraising, advertising, marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, graphic design, business or related programs; or equivalent combination of education and experienceprevious customer service, administration, fundraising, marketing or communications experienceexcellent verbal and written English communications skills, including telephone skillsexceptional planning, organization, time management and problem-solving skillsstrong interpersonal skills and ability to motivate othersstrong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office softwareproficiency in Donor Perfect software or another customer management relationship software an assetproficiency in WordPress and graphic design an assetTerm and CompensationThis is a 35 hr/wk position for 8-16 weeks, beginning as early as April 22, with possibility of part-time hours from September to March. Wages are $20.00/hr.
