Litigation Legal Assistant

Cleveland Doan LLP, an established law firm in the White Rock/South Surrey community for over 30 years, has an immediate opening for a Litigation Legal Assistant. The candidate must have a minimum of 5 years experience in litigation, preferably in a broad range of litigation areas, and have a comprehensive understanding of the BC Supreme Court Civil Rules. We have an excellent working environment with great opportunities and will support attendance at future CLE courses.
Standard Responsibilities
- Review incoming correspondence and draft responses
- Posting daily timesheets and preparing client billings in Unity software
- Maintaining an efficient file management and bring forward system
- Meeting deadlines and limitation dates
- Coordinate and schedule client appointments, examinations for discovery and other appointments
- Drafting pleadings, correspondence and related documents, and filing court documents
- Assisting lawyer in preparing for court
- Providing overflow assistance and various general administrative duties as required
Mandatory Qualifications
- Proficient knowledge of civil litigation rules and procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and solve problems in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collegial team
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Extraordinary customer service, provided in a professional, mature and courteous manner
- Highly dependable and adaptable with a great work ethic
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
