Venor is excited to partner with K-Line Construction in their search for a Senior Estimator to join the Building Division in Saint John, NB.

The building division oversees a diverse portfolio of projects, including new construction and renovations of commercial buildings, arenas, schools, offices, hospitality venues, and retail spaces. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong leadership skills to contribute to meaningful projects.

What You'll Be Doing

1. Review drawings, specifications, and code requirements to ensure they are compliant and feasible.
2. Develop detailed quantity takeoffs for all construction divisions.
3. Create project schedules based on thorough data analysis.
4. Conduct scope reviews and prepare tender packages for subcontractors.
5. Solicit and evaluate pricing information from subcontractors and suppliers.
6. Review bids and provide risk analyses, proposed job margins, and the implications for cost and schedule.
7. Source and pursue bidding opportunities through trade associations.
8. Build and maintain relationships with owners and consultants to identify project leads and explore market opportunities.
9. Monitor and evaluate bidding performance metrics to drive strategic improvements.

What We're Looking For

Candidates should have at least five years of experience in the general contracting industry. A PQS, CET, or P. Eng designation—or eligibility for these credentials—is highly desirable. Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, and industry-standard estimating software is required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong willingness to learn and adapt to the dynamic construction market, along with a commitment to delivering quality work and promoting team excellence.
