Product Specialist

Saskatchewan Blue Cross®, one of Saskatchewan’s Top Employers, is currently recruiting for a full-time permanent Product Specialist to join our team in the Product & Partnerships department. This position offers the flexibility to be in-office or participate in hybrid options in our Saskatoon or Regina office.
**JOB FUNCTION**
If you are passionate about relationship development, consider yourself analytically gifted, excel under pressure, and strive for continuous improvement, then we’re looking for you Reporting directly to the Manager, Product & Partnerships, the Product Specialist will work with internal stakeholders from Saskatchewan Blue Cross and our external partners to strengthen our value proposition. The Product Specialist is responsible for supporting the advancement of Saskatchewan Blue Cross’ product position in the group benefits, personal health, life & living benefits, and travel insurance markets. This role will drive advancement opportunities by conducting market assessments, analyzing trends and key performance indicators, providing timely recommendations, managing third-party product partnerships, and with oversight from the Manager, Product & Partnerships, will be leading the development and implementation of new or enhanced product offerings.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Establish and steward third-party partnership relationships, in addition to providing input for setting and optimizing relevant strategies and tactics; ensures partnership agreements and service level expectations are adhered to
- Offer input into the development of an innovative department strategy and roadmap, and implement operational plans that prioritize activities based on business and member impact
- Support an assigned product portfolio through all stages of the lifecycle, driving its success through benefit, value, and pricing optimization
- Maintain a product roadmap that reflects the market needs of members and clients and aligns with our organization’s mission and vision, defining benefits and product enhancements and enticing new partnerships that drive growth, adoption, and increased utilization for Saskatchewan Blue Cross programs
- Monitor and analyze adoption and performance metrics to identify product improvement opportunities and recommend ways to optimize for growth
- Maintain the product policy language for all product lines, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements, and effectively manage change/communication processes for adjustment to policies
- Provide assessments of Saskatchewan Blue Cross offerings compared to our competition and recommendations for change
- Develop and implement programs with the intention of reducing churn and deepening relationships
- Work cross-functionally with applicable teams to deliver results, share best practice, identify/address escalated product issues and complaints, and develop campaigns and initiatives as required
- Partner with appropriate teams and leaders to support annual KPI planning, including sales and penetration objectives that drive revenue growth, adoption, member satisfaction goals and the reduction of member churn
- Build and leverage member insights, data analytics, and market research to ensure products and partnerships are targeted at the most attractive market segments and contribute to the growth in existing and new market segments
- Conduct thorough market analysis and research to support pricing, product innovation and partnership development

**QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS**
- Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Business Administration, Commerce, Marketing), or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in the health insurance industry or within the field of product development
