**Purpose**:
The Buyer will be responsible for purchasing, creating and monitoring JIT delivery schedules for all components (raw and pack) as well as managing the off-site bottle moulding and decorating cycle in concert with the production schedule.

**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**:
(Principle Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned).
- Create purchase orders for departments
- Expedite delivery of material to user when required; monitor outstanding purchase orders
- Actively work with scheduling and warehousing to ensure that appropriate level of raw material, film, boxing and general supplies are maintained to produce product as per the production plan
- Work closely with QA and maintenance departments to ensure material availability to support production schedule
- Coordination full JIT delivery schedule for components per production schedule
- Creates warehouse transfer schedule for incoming components to inform warehouse staff
- Coordination of bottle decoration at offsite vendors
- Monitors material supply to advise of shortages - raw material and packaging
- Reports on PPV in area of control and negotiates to minimize where possible
- Coordinates and schedules deliveries per production schedule - raw material and packaging
- Initiates line trials for potential new packaging components
- Collaborate with vendors on cost savings for plant supplies
- Confirm availability and delivery schedules for products or services
- Actively work with scheduling and warehousing to ensure that appropriate level of raw material, film, boxing and general supplies are maintained to produce product as per the production plan
- Assist warehouse supervisor with physical inventory count
- Maintain NAFTA certificates and other related information
- Investigate physical inventory vs Adage reports
- Maintain and analyze appropriate stock level of raw materials
- Provide material usage and consumption information to supervisor
- Monitor and report material cost variances through purchases
- Perform other duties as required

**Primary Interactions**:

- Production supervisors, QA, maintenance, R&D, Accounts Payable
- Vendors, CDS warehouses

**Requirements**:
**Competencies **(Behavioural & Technical Skills)**:

- Strong computer skills (MS Office, Adage an asset)
- Good understanding of MRP/ERP systems and ability to use them
- Knowledge of generally accepted purchasing practices and scheduling techniques
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong administrative, mathematical, communication skills and judgement
- Able to communicate effectively both verbal and in writing
- Strong organizational and time management skills

**Education and/or Experience**:

- Minimum 2 years' experience in Purchasing, Material Management and/or Inventory Control in a manufacturing environment
- Post-secondary Degree/Diploma in a related field preferred
- PMAC accreditation or actively pursuing the designation an asset

**Compensation and Benefits**:

- $59,000-$70,000 / year (commensurate with experience and location).
