**Buyer III**:

- Work mode: Hybrid- Onsite Location(s): Mississauga, ON, CA**About the role**:
Procures machinery, equipment, tools, raw material, packaging materials, parts, services, and/or supplies necessary for operation of an organization. Tracks data to keep informed on price trends and market dynamics. Reviews proposals, negotiates prices, selects or recommends suppliers, analyzes trends, and maintains necessary records. Monitors performance of suppliers. The Buyer III is responsible for leading negotiations and independently identifying cost saving opportunities and vendor risks, in addition to the responsibilities of the Buyer.

**_Please note that this is a 1-year contract position covering a maternity leave_**

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Liaise with suppliers and coordinate purchasing requirements with functional experts.
- Determine quotations, negotiate prices and enter assigned purchase orders for approval.
- Communicate approved purchase orders to suppliers and following up on the delivery status of open purchase orders.
- Ensure invoice issues are dealt with in a timely fashion to avoid credit hold with suppliers.
- Reviews contract terms related to pricing, payment and delivery.
- Understand and comply the requirements of the purchasing policy and procedure.
- Negotiates with suppliers and analyzes suppliers’ operations to determine factors that affect prices and to determine lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.
- Establish working relationships with vendors to strengthen business and support company strategies.
- Demonstrate understanding of Supply Management KPIs.
- Obtain information and independently adapts work plans based on high-level project requirements.
- Analyze data and reports using statistical techniques.
- Lead or support supply chain improvements and cost saving projects as needed.
- Comply with the Health & Safety policies of the company and inform management of unsafe working conditions.
- Other duties as required.

**Required qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field of science required or equivalent level of education and work experience.
- Minimum 3 years of purchasing experience preferred
- Demonstrated competence as Buyer or equivalent.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Good negotiation, organization and time management skills
- Ability to communicate with all levels of management.
- Highly detail oriented.

**Preferred qualifications**:

- Experience working with ERP systems or databases
- Training or certification in Supply Chain field
