**Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia** is currently searching for an **Information Manager** to join our team in Burnaby

Working under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer, the **Information Manager** will be the mandate owner to partner with executives and department directors to design, implement and sustain data governance roles, processes, and tools across EGBC.

The Information Manager will guide the organization in transforming our data governance and information management practices to uphold the public interest, improve registrant experience, and to maintain our compliance with regulatory requirements.

**WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING**
- Own the long-term vision, roadmap, and implementation of the Data Governance mandate with sponsorship from Chief Operating Officer.
- Liaise with EGBC’s Chief Operating Officer, Legal, Privacy, Information Systems (IS), PMO, Change Manager, and third-party data governance advisors to successfully implement our planned data governance initiatives and ensure EGBC’s data and records management processes are compliant with FIPPA regulations.
- Support departmental adoption of new data governance processes through acting as a change agent, trainer, coach and a primary point of contact for feedback and optimizations regarding how we manage data, records and information.
- Oversee EGBC’s data and records lifecycle from their creation and preservation through retention and disposal.
- Collaborate with IS to define, develop, implement and govern Data / Records Management technology solutions (e.g., Office 365, SharePoint, Teams) across EGBC based on established leading practices.
- Define enterprise-wide and department level KPIs to measure success of data governance initiatives.
- Provide progress updates on the adoption, maturity increase and compliance on data governance initiatives to EGBC’s executive team.
- Other duties as assigned by management.

**WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE**:
The successful applicant will possess the following:

- Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Business, Technology or Library Science, and/or a Certification in Information and Records Management (e.g., CDMP, DCAM, CIPP) is required
- 5+ years of experience with modern, cloud-based data management, information management and reporting/analytics solutions
- Ability to understand stakeholder requirements and translate difficult technical concepts to wide audiences
- Ability to develop and deliver training to educate users on data governance and data management activities
- Possesses superior communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to lead meetings, hold workshops with executives, communicate complex ideas effectively
- Demonstrated involvement in successful data governance implementation projects
- Experience with change management methodology and best practices is highly desirable
- Experience working in or closely with public bodies such as federal, provincial or local governments, or regulators, and exposure to procedures concerning privacy protection and Freedom of Information
