**Drone Pilot**

**The Work**:
The Drone Aerial Solar Inspector
- Thermography Specialist will be critical to our company’s ability to improve our customer’s efficiency by early detection of failed or malfunctioning module panels, Cell Hot Spots, Activated Bypass Diodes, String Outages and Vegetation Encroachment. Conducting detailed infrastructure inspections to assess performance using thermography and specialized software. You will be reporting on improvements related to cost and energy savings and ensure specifications for optimal efficiency are met.
- Working primarily with renewable energy providers, on solar and wind installations, providing assessments solar and wind installations.
- Opportunity to work on a variety of civil construction & infrastructure projects.

**Additional duties include but are not limited to**:

- Conducting visual and infrared (“IR”) inspections to identify imperfections in the arrays.
- Using IRT drones post-preliminary visual and IR inspection, to collect more accurate data that emphasizes and details any issues identified (using thermography technology).
- Conducting data by piloting IRT drones to scan solar arrays and collecting data using thermal cameras compatible with drones for further analysis.
- Using technical expertise in thermal image processing to interpret results.
- Serving as an operation liaison with clients and monitoring project deliverables and timeframes to ensure successful project completion.
- Conducting document control and deliverable activity tracking.
- Developing overall inspection reports incorporating thermal analysis to identify hidden issues such as internal cracks that are detectable by utilizing IR cameras and inspection tools.

**Qualifications**:

- Transport Canada Special Flight Operation Certificate (SFOC)
- Canadian FCC Radio Operators Certificate.
- Proficiency in the operation of thermal cameras.
- In-depth understanding of thermal image processing and quantification
- In-depth understanding of IR radiation blocking.
- Must have experience with 3D Modelling and relevant software, such as FLIR Tools
- Must have strong communication skills and ability to speak with clients.
- Valid class 5 drives license with abstract.
- Minimum Level 1 Thermographer is a plus.
- Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite and a functional level of computer literacy is a plus.

**The Workplace**:

- This is primarily a field position, which requires considerable time working in remote areas. Typical schedule is 4-5 days per week with occasional work on weekends. Potential for advancement and exposure to a wide variety of environmental projects for the right individual.
