Qualifications:
**Essential**:

- Post secondary education in public administration, business, health, or administration. A combination of education, training and related experience may be considered
- Knowledge of the Prescription Drugs Cost Assistance Act and the Pharmaceutical Act
- Experience in conducting fraud investigations
- Knowledge of and experience working with auditing procedures and principles
- Experience researching, analyzing, and interpreting legislation and other information to formulate management recommendations and facilitate program and/or policy development
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and effectively manage conflicting deadlines
- Strong written communication skills with experience proofreading, editing and formatting a variety of documents
- Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with the public and staff on the phone and in person
- Ability to deal with contentious and complex issues raised by staff, external stakeholders, the public and media
- Effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to work as part of a team
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

- Strong, detailed knowledge of Pharmacy Operations

**Duties**:
Reporting to the Executive Director of Non-Insured Benefits (NIB), the incumbent provides audit services for Provincial Drug Programs (PDP). This position works closely with other PDP staff.

Responsibilities of this position include: carrying out risk assessment/management projects, identifying and investigating fraudulent billing by health service providers, identifying and investigating registrant abuse by individuals, identifying and recovering lost revenue from inadvertent billing errors and inappropriate payments, regular auditing of pharmacy accounts, reviews of prescriptions authorized by physicians and filled by pharmacists, and audits/investigations of issues or concerns brought forward by PDP staff.
