HR Advisor (Temporary Full-time - 20 months)

**About the role**

As the HR Advisor you will work as a key member of our HR team to contribute to the delivery of high-quality service across all areas of Human Resources, providing outstanding service and support to the business. The role is wide ranging and will include:

- Facilitation of the employee group benefits program, including enrollments, terminations and benefit and beneficiary updates
- Efficient management of short-term and long-term disability claims, including informing key stakeholders of claim decisions and tracking the status of claims to ensure timely and safe return to work
- Providing guidance to managers on employee relations issues and BMT policies and practices
- Managing contract administration for temporary employees
- Creating and maintaining accurate employee records such as HR documents and training and performance records
- Leading and coordinating BMT’s onboarding program to ensure a positive experience for new employees
- Facilitation of the performance management process to ensure timely completion of performance related activities
- Developing and Implementing HR projects, programs and communications to support BMT initiatives
- Responding to HR inquires in a professional and timely manner

**About You**

We are looking for an enthusiastic and flexible team member, who possess the following knowledge, experience, and skills:

- A university degree, college diploma or certificate in Human Resources, or related field
- 5+ years of work experience in a similar HR role
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships
- Pro-active with the ability to set priorities and organize work to ensure deadlines are met
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion
- Knowledge of human resources practices, labour law, health and safety legislation and Employment Standards Act
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Reliability Clearance.
