**Summary of the role**:
The Travel Trade Specialist is responsible for promoting and selling the Greater Victoria Region through travel trade channels and developing joint marketing agreements with tour operators and other priority partners. The primary responsibility of this role is to identify and target key aligned business objectives and travel trade operators/intermediaries and manage all aspects of the customer journey in our secondary and other key strategic markets as determined. Responsibilities include managing the sales funnel and assessing any product gaps/opportunities with the intent of increasing our member products and seasonality.
- Job Requirements/Qualifications:

- **What you need to bring**:

- 2-3 years of experience in sales and tourism, travel, hospitality, hotels, or a similar/related field.
- Experience within the travel trade industry is a strong asset.
- Sales-focused, a self-starter with a professional, determined, and persistent approach.
- Effective project management, prioritization, multi-tasking, and time management skills.
- Local tourism industry and member product knowledge.
- Knowledge of our key markets in the Americas and other European markets is an asset as well as knowledge in secondary markets in Asia and Australia.
- Computer literacy, including effective working skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe Products, Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
- Excellent communication skills, including internal, presentation, and public speaking.
- Salary/Wage: $45,900 - $54,000 annually
