**Purpose of the Position**:The Dual Diagnosis Case Manager will focus on the provision of prevention, intervention, rehabilitative and clinical expertise to people who have been dually diagnosed and reside within the Districts of Muskoka and Parry Sound. The Dual Diagnosis Case Manager will work within the Parry Sound
COAST team and will report to the COAST Team Leader.

**Education and Qualifications**:

- A bachelor’s degree in behavioral science, social work or equivalent is required. Equivalence for the purpose of qualification means a university education in the social sciences, which includes or is supplemented by practical courses in these disciplines.
- One year of experience working with persons who have mental illness and/or developmental disability and/or substance use issues plus experience in providing one or more of the following; o supportive counselling o case management o crisis intervention
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in case management and care including counselling and rehabilitation assessment and service acquired through a combination of experience in assessing the service needs of individuals who have been diagnosed with a developmental disability and have mental health concerns; planning and delivering services to developmentally diagnosed individuals in the community
- Experience in community organization, consultation and advocacy
- Research skills may be required to conduct studies of community needs and program effectiveness
- A knowledge base of psychotropic medication
- Knowledge of mental illness and of the health and social service program
- Ability to work autonomously as well as cooperatively within a team environment in a rural setting
- Excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, the Internet, and data management software
- A willingness to serve clients within the communities of the District of Muskoka and Parry Sound
- A valid Ontario G or G2 driver’s license, a safe and reliable means of transportation, and appropriate insurance for work purposes on your vehicle with a minimum of $1,000,000 in liability coverage.
- Bilingual in French/English language considered an asset
- Work schedule may include days/evenings/weekends and statutory holidays.

**Salary scale**: $28.69 - $37.57 per hour commensurate with qualifications and experience
