Job Overview:
Our cafes will soon be operating 7 days a week, but we remain dedicated to daytime hours only. The ideal applicant fits our culture: personable, engaged, and thrives in a busy environment. We maintain a respectful, professional work environment and we honour all statutory holidays so our staff can enjoy the day off.
Our stores enjoy a terrific dedicated clientele who come for our hospitality and premium quality Caffe Umbria Coffees, Silk Road Teas, and morning and mid-day fare.
We are Macchiato Caffe Ltd., locally owned, with over 16 years in business in downtown Victoria.
Base **starting **income approx. $53,000 (base of $43k plus tip pool) plus bonus potential on top of the base income.
**Responsibilities**:
- Oversee all aspects of café operations
- Train and supervise staff
- Create employee schedules and manage labor costs effectively
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders for supplies as needed
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in food handling and preparation
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a professional manner
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café at all times
- Collaborate with the management team to maintain & develop strategies for both customer and employee retention and growth
**Skills**:
- Strong cash handling skills
- Experience in food preparation an asset for sure.
- Experience with POS systems for order processing and inventory management
- Knowledge of food handling regulations and safety protocols
- Excellent team management abilities, including training, coaching, and performance evaluation
- Previous experience in a hotel or restaurant setting is essential.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to resolve issues effectively
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- A demonstrated employment history of progressive responsibility.
Pay: From $53,000.00 per year
