**What you’ll do**
It’s safe to say, there’s no shortage of variety in what we do. Here are some key accountabilities of the role:

- This position is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of Inbound North American logistics operations with a focus on the efficient and cost-effective flow of merchandise through the supply chain to destination. Accountable for end-to-end fiduciary responsibility for the management of all carriers, 3PL Providers, technology providers, and consolidation facilities involved in the movement of freight from North American Origins destined to Distribution Centers.
- Leads strategy discussions with business partners; plans, directs, and communicates execution of strategies as they relate to North American transportation and operations.
- Oversees evaluation and selection of all carriers and third parties engaged in the inbound flow of merchandise and non-merchandise for North America shipments.
- Partners with TJX Canada Global Sourcing and Procurement to oversee RFP processes that align with long term business strategy.
- Responsible for overseeing and ensuring the successful implementation of inbound projects, contracts, processes, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Leads team on managing optimal inbound merchandize and non-merchandise flow, identifying and escalating risks to partners; responsible for overseeing non-merchandise freight is delivered within timelines from vendor.
- Identifies, anticipates, and communicates changing business needs and trends to support of the overall business; creates environment that fosters high performance, innovation, learning and initiative; encourages team to analyze data and develop recommendations to share with business partners.
- Responsible for organizing and leading team, providing direction and guidance to Associates on department activities: setting goals, expectations and reviewing performance. Provides continuous feedback, mentors, trains and aligns development opportunities to Associate’s needs.
- Develops talent and creates succession plans to meet future needs of the organization; ensures each team member has a development plan that supports their growth and career aspirations.

**What you’ll need**
To begin your career with us, we require the following:

- A relevant professional Designation/Certification, i.e. Canadian Society of Custom Brokers (CSCB) and/or Canadian Institute of Traffic and Transportation (CITT) is considered a strong asset.
- Minimum of five (5) years of North American inbound transportation experience with an understanding of Canada Customs, Duty and Taxes knowledge.
- Strong people management skills including coaching, providing advice and guidance in the resolution of problems, evaluating performance, and providing feedback to Associates. Proven track record of people development and succession planning.
- Demonstrated Logistics process mapping skills and the ability to write standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Solid understanding of financial planning, business tools and reporting to support business recommendations; provide solutions with cost implications to effectively resolve issues and execute strategic solutions.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence business partners, help prioritize activities and resources to meet the organization needs, build rapport and credibility as a trusted advisor.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; persuasive influencing skills that build cross-functional relationships and effective presentation skills.
- Solid project management skills including knowledge of project methodology, preparing, and maintaining detailed development plans, determining project specifications, understanding of project control to launch and manage new initiatives.
- Excellent working knowledge of systems that support Supply Chain environment i.e. Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Customs systems ITMR4, ViaTrade.
