Due to the announced retirement of the incumbent, the Region is seeking its next Commissioner, Corporate Services & Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

**Commissioner, Corporate Services & Chief Financial Officer, Regional Municipality of Waterloo**

Location: Hybrid/Kitchener, ON.

Acting as the most-senior financial executive for the Region, the Commissioner and CFO provides leadership and direction in the development and implementation of strategic priorities and objectives across a diverse array of services spanning accounting, financial services, treasury, information technology services, insurance, and asset and risk management. The Commissioner provides expert advice to the Chief Administrative Officer, Regional Council, and related agencies to enable timely and informed decision making while carrying substantial weight in shaping the municipality’s administrative and operational landscape.

The Waterloo Region will rely on your proven transformational leadership experience and ability to drive excellence and innovation in financial stewardship and operations. You have demonstrable success in inspiring an agile and enabling department, ensuring that services continue to evolve and align to meet the changing organization and community needs. You are a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) with deep knowledge of management and financial accounting, including legislative processes normally acquired through a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Commerce, or related discipline, plus senior management-level finance experience in a large public sector organization. Your outstanding communication skills, excellent political acuity and judgment have ensured the building of effective relationships based on trust across a broad constituency of public and private stakeholders. Your analytical skills, critical thinking and bias to action underscore your ability to set objectives, balance priorities, and develop policies, standards, and strategies that achieve measurable results.
