**Purchasing Assistant**:

Working under the supervision of both the Senior Purchaser and Operations Manager your main responsibility is to provide support by assisting the team of buyers with administrative duties. Daily tasks will include (but are not limited to) the following:

- Data entry; creating items, product information, entering receiving documents from the warehouse
- Purchasing samples both locally and via E-Commerce for new product.
- Issue purchase orders to suppliers, distributors, and manufacturers
- Handle goods throughout the purchasing process
- Ensure that orders received are accurate
- Ensure goods received are not damaged
- Maintaining accurate inventory records and records of purchases made
- Keeping open lines of communication with vendors
- Staying up to date with industry trends
- Arranging shipment of samples from suppliers locally and international.
- Conducting item analysis and research of new products
- Staying organized and up to date with previous offers, counters and negotiated pricing and completing documents when requested.
- Organization of samples; maintaining organization and structure of the sample rooms.
- Working with suppliers to obtain item information regarding new product. Working closely with the Purchasing team to relay such information.
- Maintaining strong relationships and long-term purchasing agreements with suppliers and vendors
- Working with transportation carriers to get quotations for shipments and organizing pickups of goods both domestically and internationally.

**Requirements**:

- Fluent in English (Spoken & Written) - French is an asset.
- 1-year of relevant experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Attention to detail and highly organized.
- Strong Communication Skills & work ethics.
- Ability to work independently
- Team Player, willing to help when needed.
- Ability to travel if needed, attending trade shows.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $45,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
