The Director, Communications & Public Relations will report directly to the Chief Diversity Officer & Head of Talent Strategies.

**Key Responsibilities**
- ** Strategic Communications Planning**:

- Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies that align with the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Oversee the creation and execution of communication plans for various initiatives, campaigns, and events.
- Ensure consistent and effective messaging across all communication channels.
- **Public & Media Relations**:

- Serve as the primary spokesperson for the organization.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with media outlets and journalists.
- Manage media inquiries, interviews, and press conferences.
- Develop and distribute press releases, media kits, and other communication materials.
- **Internal Communications**:

- Oversee internal communication efforts to ensure employees are informed and engaged.
- Develop and implement internal communication strategies and tools.
- Support Senior Leadership in communicating key messages to staff.
- ** Crisis Communication**:

- Develop and implement crisis communication plans and strategies.
- Act as the lead in managing communication during crises or emergencies.
- Ensure timely and accurate dissemination of information during critical situations.
- **Brand Management**:

- Oversee the development and maintenance of the organization’s brand identity.
- Ensure brand consistency across all communication materials and platforms.
- Monitor and manage the organization’s public image and reputation.
- **Stakeholder Engagement**:

- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including Senior Leadership, business partners, employees, clients and/or community organizations.
- Coordinate and manage communication with stakeholders to support organizational goals.
- **Digital and Social Media**:

- Oversee the organization’s digital and social media strategies.
- Ensure effective use of digital platforms to enhance communication and engagement.
- Monitor and analyze digital and social media metrics to inform strategy.
- **Leadership and Team Management**:

- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of communications and public relations professionals.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
- Provide strategic direction and guidance to the communications team.
- ** Work Location**: National Office, Mississauga ( Hybrid : 3 days/week )

Job Qualification

**Education and Experience**
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in communications, public relations, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership and people management role.
- Healthcare industry experience is strongly preferred.
- Proven experience in developing and executing comprehensive communication strategies.
- Strong media relations skills and experience serving as an organizational spokesperson.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Experience in crisis communication and brand management.
- Proficiency in digital and social media platforms.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
