BDP Quadrangle has committed to a Sustainability Strategy that includes a Decarbonization Roadmap with the goal of designing all buildings to net zero operational carbon by 2030 with a 40% reduction in embodied carbon emissions. The strategy includes the adoption of a Baseline of Care on all projects. BDP Quadrangle has committed to operating its studio to net zero by 2025. This includes reducing its Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions 46.2% by 2030 in alignment with BDPQ’s approved SBTi near-term target.

The purpose of this full-time role is to provide support to the Director of Innovation and the Green Team to realize the goals of the Sustainability Strategy and support the Innovation Pillar.

**Roles and Responsibilities**:

- Provide support to the Director of Innovation and the Green Team to execute deliverables in support of the BDP Quadrangle Sustainability Strategy.
- Support Net Zero Projects_
- Support Green Buddies in tracking, analyzing and following up on project progress against the Baseline of Care including the following:

- Facilitating green buddy meetings,
- Reviewing energy models;
- Learning BETBG calculations;
- Performing bi-annual calls to green buddies for up-to-date building models and SIM files;
- Follow up with PL’s on project deadlines and required sustainability material for submissions
- Input project statistics and building metrics into central project tracking system;
- Assist in the preparation of internal & external presentations on sustainability;
- Review Green Checklist, and;
- Upload SIM files to COMPASS.
- Develop a deep knowledge of all BDP Quadrangle Sustainability resources and lead annual review and update of all materials and Green Team pages on the intranet.
- Perform bi-annual analysis of the Energy Model Tracking Excel to ensure completeness of information and to identify anomalies and trends.
- Support project teams as required to perform project analyses using various appropriate tools and assist in the interpretation of results and the creation of appropriate design solutions.
- Scale up the embodied carbon knowledge and processes within studio in support of our commitments.
- Stay current with the industry trends and research in sustainability including membership/participation in at least one outside organization with a focus on sustainability.
- Support Net Zero Studio_
- Support the Director of Innovation in meeting BDP Quadrangle’s commitments to the Science Based Targets (SBTi). Coordinate with internal and external groups in the creation and monitoring of sustainable procurement policies and collection of performance data to support annual reporting.
- Prepare materials for BDP’s annual global environmental report and ESG reporting.
- Support Internal Engagement Events: BDP Green Building Week, Food for Thought, Annual Reporting at Studio Meeting (Studio Operations and Project Performance), Leadership Training, Principal Education,
- Proactively stimulate sustainable design discussion inside and outside the BDP Quadrangle Studio.
- Support Digital/Physical Design Practice
- Support the BIM/ Design Technology Manager in developing sustainability workflows through all phases of design and construction.
- Engage in and contribute to design technology discourse.

**Key competencies, skills and professional requirements**:

- 3-5 years’ experience in supporting the sustainability and Net Zero Carbon agenda in medium/large architectural organizations
- Experienced in low carbon and net zero carbon design principles, assessment and validation.
- Excellent communication, graphic and illustrative skills
- Experience working across a range of different scale and building types
- Passion for cutting edge developments in the AEC industry including building physics, passive design, occupant comfort and innovation
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work autonomously and as part of collaborative multidiscipline teams
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to coordinate and lead groups of people
- Qualified degree, preferably to Master level in architecture or environmental design.
