**About Us**:The BC Confederation of Parent Advisory Councils (BCCPAC), a registered non-profit and non-partisan charity, represents the parents of more than 620,000 children attending public schools. As the provincial voice of parents, guardians and caregivers in public schools, we engage, empower and support them for the success of all learners through collaboration, partnership and education, in a culture of acceptance, inclusion and equity. We are governed by a volunteer board of directors elected annually by the membership which consists of District Parent Advisory Councils (DPAC), and Parent Advisory Councils (PAC).
We are seeking two motivated and creative Content Strategists with planning skills in process and automation in the Microsoft online environment to join our team through the Canada Summer Jobs program.
**Job Overview**: The Content Strategist team of 2 will play a critical role in planning strategy and creating content in advance, to implement internal and external communication across various platforms. They will also be crucial to implementing new processes and automation in the Outlook/SharePoint/Microsoft 365 environment.
These positions offer a unique opportunity to work collaboratively to update our processes and systems, and engage in a wide range of communication activities, including planning, content creation, social media management, newsletters, surveys, internal communications, and event coordination.
**Key Responsibilities may include**:
**1. Implementation of new processes and automation in the Outlook/SharePoint/Microsoft 365 environment**
- Work with project manager, office staff and Executive Director to implement recommendations from our internal process review
- Implement automation using Microsoft Power Automate and other tools
**2. Social Media and Website**:
- Develop annual cyclical plans and content strategies.
- Create advance annual content.
- Curate and manage content.
- Monitor and analyze web traffic and social media engagement metrics.
**3. Internal Communications**:
- Develop an annual Board work plan calendar and input into Microsoft Planner.
- Take event and other planning lists for repeated events and activities, and input into Microsoft Planner.
- Implement and facilitate internal communication and file structures using Microsoft 365 tools, including SharePoint, Outlook, Microsoft Planner, and Teams.
- Prepare guidance documents for use of the above tools for Board, staff and volunteers.
- Produce, advance-plan, and distribute internal communications.
- Support the executive assistant to prepare, organize and manage communication and documents for internal events such as committee and board meetings.
**4. External Communications**:
- Develop annual cyclical plans and content strategies.
- Create advance annual content.
- Develop content for external newsletters, surveys, and reports.
- Coordinate and communicate with staff and volunteers.
- Assist the executive assistant in planning and executing events and activities for members and external audiences.
**5. Content Creation and Management**:
- Write, edit, and proofread various types of content, ensuring consistency in voice and tone.
- Collaborate with different staff and volunteers to gather content and align communication efforts.
- Create and maintain a content calendar to ensure timely and relevant communication.
- Prepare content in advance to be used throughout the year.
**6. Office support and other duties as assigned**
**Required Qualifications**:
- Enrolled in or recent graduate of a program related to Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field; will also accept sufficient relevant experience to the role.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and digital marketing strategies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools (SharePoint, Outlook, Microsoft Planner, Teams).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong skills in communications and project management/reminders.
**Desired Additional Qualifications**:
- Specific knowledge of Microsoft Planner and Power Automate would be a significant asset.
- Experience with content management systems (CMS) and basic web design is an asset.
**Eligibility**:
- Must be between the ages of 15 and 30 (inclusive) at the start of employment.
- Must be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the _Immigration and Refugee Protection Act_*.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
*International students are not eligible. Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian Citizens or permanent residents.
