We are looking for a second-year Social Service Worker student to complete their placement with our Choices Program

**Length of Placement**: January to May
**Part-Time**: 14-21 hours per week
**Hybrid placement** (requires travel throughout York Region and South Simcoe)

Preference for those who live/work/study in South Simcoe.

**Job Profile**:

- Facilitating Groups and Workshops
- Development and Research of Groups and workshops
- Outreach for groups and development of promotional materials
- Making connections with community partners, guidance counsellors and student-led groups to encourage service access
- Collection of data and data analysis
- Other training and shadowing opportunities as available

**Skills/Experience required**:

- A valid Canadian Full G driver’s license
- Have access to a vehicle and be able to travel independently
- Strong interpersonal skills, and conflict resolution
- Public speaking experience
- Experience working with youth
- Ability to take initiative
- Knowledge of the range of mental health services
- Positive attitudes towards people with mental health problems
- Enthusiasm to reduce stigma/discrimination associated with mental illness
- Interest in wellness strategies for youth

**Education**:
Must be enrolled in an SSW program, be a second-year student, and require a placement as part of their program.

- Some college or better in Social Work or related field

**Licenses & Certifications**: Required
- Vulnerable Sector Check

**Skills**: Preferred
- ASIST, Mental health first aid training
