Position Overview*
The Manager, Business Banking is responsible for management and oversight of the small business portfolio as well as leading the Business Relationship Manager team in successful execution of the business plan and contributing to an excellent member experience overall. The incumbent leads the business banking team in building and managing relationships, in addition to developing new business, and is an example of service excellence in collaborating with all Gulf & Fraser branches and departments to contribute to the growth of all lines of business.

Accountabilities: *
- Oversees the day to day operation of the Business Relationship Manager team with a view to sustainably growing and maintaining Gulf & Fraser’s small business book and providing exceptional service to the branches and our members.
- Supports the AVP, Mobile Services in creating an annual business plan and budget; collaborates to ensure the areas of improvement are aligned with the business needs.
- Ensures all auto, short form and full reviews are completed on a timely manner by the Business Relationship Manager team.
- Utilizes market analytics and industry expertise to identify and recommend opportunities for innovative and competitive products; utilizes data to identify gaps and recommend/implement corrective actions.
- Manages a portfolio of relationships; works to proactively develop business from external sources, within current book and with the Gulf & Fraser membership.
- Collaborates with branches on marketing plans to attain business and promote cross-selling of products and services; initiates, leads and participates in specific marketing campaigns, initiatives and/or promotions.
- Ensures Business Relationship Manager team is representing and delivering the Gulf & Fraser brand and service standards consistently and effectively.
- Promotes and maintains a positive relationship with branch management and staff as a means to a productive referral channel and positive member experience.
- Develops and manages relationships with Centres of Influence (COI), community, business network, organizations and groups to build and promote the credit union’s corporate social responsibility and commitment to community, including leading and/or participating in Gulf & Fraser's -sponsored educational seminars and information sessions.

Requirements: *
- Post-secondary business degree or diploma
- 7-9 years’ progressive experience in financial services
- Demonstrated strength and success in small business lending and financial sales
- Prior leadership of a sales team with demonstrated strength in coaching
- Strong communication and organization skill
- Equivalent combination of the above may be appropriate
