A Food and Beverage Attendant is an important member of the cafe staff responsible for providing excellent customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of the cafe. The job description may include the following responsibilities:
**Responsibilities**:

- Customer Service: Warmly welcoming customers, taking orders, and helping with menu selections.
- Addressing customer inquiries and concerns to ensure a positive and enjoyable visit.
- Beverage Preparation: Skillfully preparing a wide range of beverages, including coffee, tea, espresso, cappuccino, and other specialty drinks.
- Demonstrating proficiency in latte art to create visually appealing beverages.
- Coffee Expertise: Possessing the ability to use espresso machines to achieve the perfect extraction and maintain consistency in coffee quality.
- Beer and Wine Sales: Knowledgeably offering and selling a selection of beers and wines available in the cafe. Complying with legal age restrictions and ensuring responsible alcohol service.
- Multitasking: Excelling at multitasking during peak hours, efficiently handling tasks such as taking orders, preparing beverages, serving customers, processing payments, and facilitating beer and wine sales.
- Light Food Preparation: Assisting with simple food preparation, such as assembling sandwiches, salads, and pastries, as per the cafe's menu.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS**
- Energetic and Friendly: Bringing a positive and energetic attitude to work, engaging with customers, and creating a welcoming atmosphere in the cafe.
- Espresso Beverage Knowledge: Demonstrating a thorough understanding of how to build and customize espresso-based beverages to meet customer preferences.

- Time Management: Punctuality and the ability to arrive for the 5 am start time to ensure the cafe is fully operational for the morning rush.

Other:

- Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with guests, wait staff, cooks, and supervisors.
- Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency.
- Reading and writing abilities are utilized often when taking orders, describing cocktail items, completing paperwork, etc.
- Basic math skills are frequently used when handling cash and credit.
- May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
