Position Overview:
The Lead Hand will be responsible for overseeing daily operations on the shop floor, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.

Key Responsibilities:
Supervision and Leadership:

- Oversee and coordinate the activities of shop floor personnel.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to team members.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and quality standards.

Project Management:

- Monitor project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with estimators, supervisors, and clients to ensure project specifications are met.
- Address and resolve any issues or delays in a timely manner.

Technical Expertise:

- Utilize advanced machining techniques and equipment.
- Conduct inspections and quality checks on finished products.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems as they arise.

Operational Efficiency:

- Optimize workflow and productivity on the shop floor.
- Implement and maintain best practices for machining and fabrication processes.
- Coordinate maintenance and repair of equipment.

Documentation and Reporting:

- Maintain accurate records of project progress, materials used, and labor hours.
- Prepare and submit regular reports, as required.

Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in machining or a related field is preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a machining or manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.

- Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
- Solid understanding of machining principles, techniques, and equipment.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Familiarity with safety and quality standards in a manufacturing setting.

Working Conditions:

- This position requires working in a shop environment with exposure to machinery noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
- Occasional lifting and physical labor may be required.
- Standard working hours are 7:30 - 3:30pm, with potential for overtime as needed.

Pay: $30.00-$38.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
