**About the role**:
The Buyer will be responsible for supporting manufacturing and service operations, by having necessary parts and materials available at the best possible total cost and at the required quality level. Comprehensive training will be provided over the course of around 2 months through on-the-job mentorship with senior coworkers.
**In this role, you will**:
- Maintain accurate purchasing information for all production components: lead-time, pricing, inventory stocking levels, country of origin etc.
- Maintain/review inventory levels for standard components
- Evaluation/action of purchasing reports to support production timelines: MRP/PRP; expediting, rescheduling and cancellation messages
- Processing orders for miscellaneous supplies to support other business team needs
- Obtain best price and delivery while meeting required quality standards
- Prioritize highest level of quality, and continuity of supply for site / category
- Evaluation of vendor performance: on-time delivery, quality and maintain a ‘best in class’ supplier base.
- Conduct regular supplier meetings to ensure project on-time deliveries.
- Collaborate with Commodity Team to implement and maintain a supplier rationalization program, with execution timeline
- Collaborate with Commodity Team to actively pursue cost reduction ideas and strategies with vendors
**Are you qualified?**
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, or applicable preferred
- Electrical knowledge or formal education is a plus
- Minimum of 1 to 3 years of procurement / category management experience.
- >1 year of MRP / ERP materials planning system experience. Baan or LN experience is a plus
- 3 years of experience procuring custom engineered water treatment equipment preferred
