The Maintenance Inventory Control Specialist has strong communication skills, is highly detailed, works well in a team environment, is responsible and reliable, and is open to change. The person is very organized, structured, results oriented and quality driven.

**The Maintenance Inventory Control Specialist promotes and maintains a safe working environment through compliance with VCL’s Health and Safety Program. This includes Food Safety and Environmental compliance.**

**Duties/Responsibilities**:

- Keep parts and supplies organized and labeled for the Maintenance team.
- Work cross-functionally with Purchasing Supervisor - MRO on parts ordering/inventory.
- Work with vendors who we work with for supplies and parts.
- Work with Purchasing Supervisor - MRO to develop detailed information on parts/supplies.
- Deliver orders and supplies within the plant as necessary and stage parts for upcoming maintenance projects.
- Maintain parts inventory, receiving and re-stocking shipments.
- Collaborate with Purchasing Supervisor - MRO to ensure optimal stock levels of critical spare parts.
- Conduct inventory cycle counts including physical counts.
- Compare physical stock count to the CAMS Computerized Maintenance Management System stock to ensure accuracy and reconcile differences (Spot Checks)
- Create bin locations physically and in CAMS.
- Stock bin locations with spare parts and maintain an organized storeroom.
- Work with Planner to ensure all required parts are available prior to the work being scheduled.
- Process all returned parts as required.
- Responsible for the life cycle management of all maintenance department inventory assets.
- Effectively and efficiently manage maintenance division stockroom.
- Logically organize assets both physically and within CAMS
- Monitor supply chain effectiveness and elevate inventory shortfalls to the Purchasing Supervisor - MRO and Maintenance Manager
- Reports all activity into CAMS
- Submits written reports as requested.
- Complies with all safety rules and regulations.
- Uses PPE appropriately.
- Maintains clean and orderly work areas.
- Identifies work to be performed and performs the work without being directed by others.
- Practices safe work habits and encourage others to do the same.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Required Skills/Abilities**:

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, Word and Excel.
- Ability to understand and perform using safe work practices.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Self-motivated.
- Good organizational skills.
- Good communication skills, verbal and written.
- Fit into team and continuous improvement environments.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts or weekends depending on business needs.

**Education and Experience**:

- 3 - 5 years of experience with supply chain management and inventory control ideally within the Maintenance field.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Must be able to traverse property and facility.
- Extended periods of walking and standing.
