Shift Lead
**Position Overview**

The VFPA Land Operations Department will require Paladin Security to facilitate flow of commercial vehicle traffic on site and oversee gate control in accordance with VFPA processes and regulations. VFPA requires all personnel within the traffic coordination (flagging) and access control (booth) positions to ensure the fluid movement of vehicles on Port roadways. The position of Site Supervisor during the Day Shift and Shift Lead during the Afternoon Shift will involve complete oversight of the security staff deployment, as well as tactical support while staging of commercial vehicles (i.e. container trucks) due to roadway congestion and/or incident management. In the event of an emergency, critical incident, road congestions and heavy traffic, the Site Supervisor (Day) and Shift Lead (Afternoon) will coordinate security response with the VFPA Operations Centre and will provide assistance as needed.

**Essential Job Functions**
- Acting as first point of contact with the VFPA 24/7 Operations Centre;
- Ensuring that all access control and traffic coordination personnel are appropriately staffed and trained. This includes reviewing, auditing and updating site schedules and coordinating staffing requirements with CSM and Portfolio Resources Coordinator (PRC).
- As part of the Key Performance Indicators (KPI), site schedules will need to be Performing weekly “position / role” audits;
- Preparing and communicating schedules for all positions two weeks in advance and communicating same to VFPA Operations Centre Land Logistics Specialist on a weekly basis;
- Meeting weekly with the VFPA Land Logistics Specialist to review key performance metrics, incidents, and/or events;
- Responding to all road incidents by monitoring and managing traffic;
- Providing concise reporting to the VFPA 24/7 Operations Centre, including photos (as required);
- Communicating with the VFPA 24/7 Operations Centre to receive direction in the event of Port blockades or protest incidents that impact entrance to and exit from Port roadways;
- Providing photo/video monitoring and/or recording as directed;
- Supporting VFPA Security as directed;
- Collecting/removing all unauthorized notices or pamphlets etc. inappropriately posted;
- Distributing notices to groups blockading port entrance/exits as directed;
- Perform other administrative and staff coaching duties as required.

**Skills and Abilities**
- Lead, delegate and supervise.
- Plan, organize and problem solve.
- Multitask and manage time efficiently.
- Basic computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Working knowledge of TrackTik, SSIRS and WinTEAM considered an asset.
- Effective professional communication, both in writing and verbally, including presentation to groups.
- Strong interpersonal skills, client service and professionalism in all situations.
- Ability to function effectively in a highly dynamic environment.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.

**Certifications Required**:

- BC Security License
- MTSC clearance
- Class 5 BC Driver’s License.
- Traffic Control Person Training (TCP).
- Occupational First Aid Level 1 Certification (OFA 1).
- Management of Aggressive Behavior Training (MOAB).
- Complete additional training as required.

**Please note: This is a full-time position from Monday to Friday, with working hours from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM.**
