Conditions of Employment:

- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Must possess and maintain a valid full stage Manitoba Class 5 Driver's Licence or equivalent from another province.
- Must be able to travel within Manitoba via motorized vehicle
- Must be able to work outside regular office hours, as required.
- Must be physically capable of performing the duties of the position, which may require extensive hours of computer work with a monitor and keyboard, and moderate physical effort when conducting field work (e.g. carrying equipment such as traps or sampling materials for long distances potentially over rough terrain and in adverse weather conditions).

Qualifications:
Essential:

- Post secondary education in Biology, Wildlife Management or Resource Management program or a related program. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may also be considered.
- Experience with data visualization and disseminating results to a variety of audiences.
- Experience collecting, managing and analyzing field data.
- Experience using statistical software (eg. R, SAS), and geographic information systems.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships.
- Ability to work independently with organizational and time management skills.
- Effective written communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills.

Desired:

- Experience developing and managing wildlife research and monitoring programs.
- Ability to initiate and complete projects.

**Duties**:
Under the general supervision of the Population Assessment Manager, the employee will plan, coordinate, and organize wildlife population research and management programs across Manitoba. The incumbent will also assist in the development and delivery of the hunter questionnaire program and other wildlife programming including commercial wildlife allocation, season setting, wildlife habitat assessment, wildlife disease, and non-game management.
