**Spare Parts and Kits Manager**

We are looking for a **Spare Parts and Kits Manager** for our Peterborough, Ontario site.

**About us**:
BWXT NEC's Fuel Handling and Engineered Solutions group is involved in the design,manufacture, development, testing, parts supply, and service of on-power refueling,reactor maintenance, and nuclear medicine delivery tooling sold around the world. We are the original designer of the automated systems that allow 24/7 on powerrefueling of CANDU reactors and aim to solve some of the Nuclear Industry’s mostchallenging problems. Today, BWXT’s equipment is being used in most of thenuclear power plants in Canada and is critical to delivering carbon free energyproduction and lifesaving medical isotopes.

**Role Purpose**:
The Spare Parts and Kits Manager leads customer facing solutions in regards to the supply of spare parts and maintenance overhaul kits. The end use of these critical components are for fuel handling systems, medical isotope delivery systems, specialized tooling and process plant systems in the nuclear industry.

**Responsibilities**:
Functional leadership of a multidiscipline team that is accountable to deliver two separate product lines of individual parts or groups of parts for a specific maintenance activity. This position will also be responsible for implementing process simplification and streamlined practices from the industry. This position requires frequent interaction with customers as well as internal operational groups as it highly strategic and part of an integrated approach.

**Specific responsibilities and accountabilities include**:

- Providing strategic leadership for multidiscipline team in the execution of parts and kits supply.
- Achieving and maintaining effective project planning, reporting management, milestone completion on-time / on-budget, meeting metrics, and achieving results through influencing, actions and setting of expectations.
- Building and maintaining customer relationships through regular meetings with key customer senior staff. Resolving customer conflicts when necessary. Leading the negotiation of new customer contracts.
- Leading continual change efforts to achieve cost reduction and process simplification and foster a positive, productive work environment based on teamwork and employee engagement.
- Establishing departmental plans and goals including success criteria, risks, activities, deliverables, resource requirements and budget.
- Holding communication meetings with staff to relay goals, objectives, expectations and other general information impacting the function.
- Recruiting and developing staff, including retention and training for the department.
- Understanding and ensuring staff compliance with applicable external codes, regulations and guidelines as well as internal standards set by BWXT.
- Coaching and mentoring staff to achieve best in class results.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Bachelors’ Degree (Engineering or Business preferred). Technical Degree/Diploma or Technical certifications in the areas of Supply Management, Logistics, Project Management or related fields would also be considered.
- Minimum 5 or more years’ experience in manufacturing, procurement &/or equivalent work-related experience.
- Minimum 3 years in a leadership position.
- Short term travel (approximately 10%) may be required for the purpose of meeting with clients and stakeholders.

**Desired Characteristics**:

- PMP certification and/or PEO license is considered an asset, but is not required.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: Engineering design, team leadership, product design leadership, manufacturing team leadership, commercial operations, project coordination and / or project planning.
- Knowledge of data management and manipulation in Excel such as visual basic programming, spreadsheet server, and pivot tables.
- Resource and financial management experience.
- Experience in the nuclear industry is considered an asset but not required.
- Strong negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience in the Nuclear, Aerospace, Medical, Transportation or other highly regulated industry
