Home Instead is looking for an energetic, motivated, compassionate individual to join the team in Halifax in the role of Human Resources Coordinator. This a great role for a CCA or personal care worker looking to grow and advance their career. You will be recruiting, hiring, and training care professionals in addition to organizing schedules to create great matches between our caregivers and our clients.

Home Instead is Nova Scotia's trusted source of non-medical home care and companionship for older adults and individuals needing assistance in remaining independent. We employ care professionals who help seniors remain at home by encouraging independence while providing one-on-one support and engagement.

**Primary responsibilities include**:

- Assist with planning and executing care professional training sessions and meetings.
- Work with the Recruitment & Engagement Coordinator to answer each employment inquiry in a friendly, professional, and knowledgeable manner.
- Schedule and conduct applicant interviews in an efficient and professional manner.
- Prepare and present offers of employment.
- Onboard new caregivers by collecting employment documents, signatures, and reference checks.
- Demonstrate open and effective communication with community partners, co-workers, caregivers, and clients.
- Work in partnership with the scheduling department to coordinate hiring caregivers, with an emphasis on creating high-quality matches and extraordinary relationships.
- Ensure outstanding customer service by scheduling and coordinating case load efficiently.
- Handle last minute call-outs or emergency scheduling changes.
- Participate in overnight/on-call duties 1-2 evenings per week and every 4th/5th weekend.

**Education/Experience/Skills requirements**:

- Minimum 1+ years of experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven role.
- A diploma in a relevant field, such as human resources or office administration is considered an asset.
- Experience in a health care setting (in an office environment or as a health care professional such as a CCA) is considered an asset.
- Must demonstrate sound judgement and good decision-making skills.
- Must be comfortable presenting.
- Strong knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office 365
- Enjoy acting as a resource for both client and employee inquiries
- Must be an excellent communicator, organized, and possess problem solving skills.
