**Overview**:
**Responsibilities**:

- Assist with the development and implementation of communication plans and strategies
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging across all channels
- Monitor and track media coverage and measure the impact of communication efforts
- Support the organization's social media presence by scheduling and publishing content
- Conduct research and gather information for various communication projects
- Develop original communications content such as blogs, press releases, newsletters, and other publications
- Monitor and assist with media coverage for BIA events, projects, and initiatives
- Assist and collaborate with team members on content creation and content editing
- Monitor BIA member businesses’ accounts for things to share on the BIA’s website and blogs
- Uploading BIA member businesses’ events onto the BIA website
- Prepare presentations and reports as requested
- Assist the Marketing Manager with the management of the company's external image
- Attend all BIA events to assist with operations and media coverage

**Requirements**:

- Currently pursuing a degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field
- 1-2 years of experience in communications, marketing, or a related field
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Mailchimp
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Proficiency in all social media platforms and scheduling platforms

**Reports to**:

- Marketing Manager
- Executive Director

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 20-35 per week

**Salary**: From $16.00 per hour

**Benefits**:

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Niagara Falls, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
