At **SMS Equipment, **our **Contract Solutions Lead **is responsible for administrating, amending, and negotiating contract terms with counter parties. The **Contract Solutions Lead **will combine their thorough knowledge of legal and contract terminology for both sales and supply side contracts. This position is in **Acheson, AB.**

This position offers a **hybrid **work arrangement.

The salary range for this position is **$70,000 - $90,000.**

**Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

- Support all SMS departments on moving contracts forward from receipts to seamless execution.
- Communicate and present all contract risks to influence and make decision makers aware of potential risk issues.
- Assist in the preparation and providing feedback on business, commercial and risk aspects of the contracts.
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors, customers, and other business connections.
- Track contracts and recommend extending, renewing, or closing out as per business’ needs.
- Identify operational contract-related problems, such as breach of contract, etc.
- Maintain contract related documents and correspondence within databases and file reference systems.
- Analyze data related to contract workflow and identify which parts of the workflow may be slowing down the execution process.
- Recommend solutions to impacted parties to continuously improve the contract workflow to ensure past execution processes.
- Be the key reviewer for all legal, commercial, risk issues related to operational contracts.
- Coordinate with members within the Corporate Finance department and contract originating department to capture other feedback and possible risks.
- Prepare recommendations for agreements for alternative contract language that supports the SMS intended transaction while balancing associated risks.
- Provide advice and counsel to all SMS departments, impact on operations and impact on contracting parties to influence the inclusion of beneficial contract language for all parties.
- Assist in the analysis of profitability calculations within agreements and identifying potential risks to profitability to advise Business decision makers and provide alternative solutions.
- Negotiate requested contract changes to mitigate risk to a standard acceptable by SMS’ corporate risk level.
- Act as a liaison with internal legal counsel in the review of technical operational level legal contracts. and addressing other legal issues during business transactions as required.
- Brief Executives and prepare contracts for Executive signoff.
- Develop, with internal stakeholders, standard contracts, and legal language for use by the business.

**Qualifications**:

- Proven contract negotiation experience.
- Professional Contract Management designation (CPCM or CCCM).
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
- Strong research and analytical skills required to address a variety of business issues and make recommendations to management.
- Demonstrated experience in presenting issues to management.
- Proven ability to work as a contracts specialist and to perform effectively in a fast paced, multi-project, and dynamic environment.
- Demonstrated project management, conflict resolution, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Contract specialist/management experience is preferred.
- Bilingual both written and verbally in French.
