The work of Good Shepherd is based on a fundamental belief in providing hope and restoring dignity to the most vulnerable members of our community. Our services include emergency food and clothing; daily hot meals; emergency shelters for men, youth, families, women and children; transitional housing and education for homeless and street-involved youth; hospice palliative care; community mental health programs; and supportive housing programs.

**Hours of Work**: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. plus sharing in on call duties for all Family Centre Programs

**How You Will Make an Impact**

The Manager will oversee a Pilot Program that will provide on site staff supports for families residing in emergency shelter overflow spaces. The Manager of Residential Services ensures that the Hotel Overflow program offers a safe and secure environment where families can focus on their housing needs with an emphasis on rapid rehousing. Provides direct supervision to the Hotel Overflow staff members and oversees day to day operations of all aspects of program delivery.

You are a crucial figure in the operational success of our overflow hotel program. This role involves extensive team management, community outreach, strategic oversight, and hands-on involvement in program development and compliance.

You will oversee a dedicated team, ensuring excellence through, continuous training, and explicit communication of job expectations. A significant part of the responsibility lies in building and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with various community, health, and government partners. You will represent Good Shepherd in various meetings, actively participating and voicing key organizational perspectives. You will also tasked with the critical role of identifying operational inefficiencies, strategically providing evidence-based solutions to the Director while ensuring strict adherence to all legislative requirements and organizational standards.

Additional duties include managing a unionized workforce in compliance with the Collective Agreement, conducting team orientations, and maintaining flexibility with work schedules, displaying readiness to handle various tasks as the organization's needs evolve.

**What You'll Bring to Our Team**
- Post secondary education in a relevant discipline equivalent or equivalent combination of education and experience in the field of social work/social services
- At least four years' experience working in community-based settings with homeless and marginalized individuals, including people who use substances
- Experience in a leadership role within an unionized environment would be an asset
- Strong communication skills with the ability to problem solve and provide support, including the ability to develop systemic solutions to how new and existing work is completed
- An understanding and comfort working from a trauma informed, client-centered, anti-oppressive framework
- Knowledge of the Child, Youth and Family Services Act
- Experience in developing, implementing and evaluating individual and group programming
- Skill in effective crisis management and the ability to communicate effectively and establish therapeutic relationships with clients and team members
- Demonstrated clinical understanding of trauma informed and harm reduction practices and approaches
- Demonstrated clinical, verbal presentation and written skills combined with the ability to work co-operatively negotiate effectively and facilitate teamwork with a variety of professionals
- Familiarity with facilitating trainings/groups
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team to integrate work with other teams
- Ability to be self-directed, work independently and manage a varied
- Demonstrated interpersonal, decision making, conflict management, critical thinking, and organizational skills and ability to communicate appropriate professional boundaries
- Experience with conflict resolution and well-developed de-escalation skills and
- Ability to develop and execute plans to achieve functional goals
- Excellent written communication skills and computer literacy, including the ability to access and use a variety of information system tools
- Fluency in a second language is an asset.
- Valid G driver's license.
