As an Account Manager you will be responsible for supporting the achievement of the growth and expansion objectives of the organization, in your assigned territory.

Expectations of this role include:

- Developing and maintaining detailed knowledge database of current market conditions;
- Creating target prospects, qualified prospects, and contact lists;
- Prospecting for new business opportunities within existing and greenfield accounts;
- Building, cultivating, and maintaining relationships and contacts with both existing and new customers, business partners and project partners to expand and identify new opportunities in the area, and move opportunities through the sales funnel;
- Identifying customer needs, developing solutions, and responding to requests to secure customer sales and contracts;
- Collaborating with branch leadership, project team and marketing team members on strategic sales approach;
- Preparing and participating in the development of sales contracts and customer proposals;
- Monitoring and maintaining account relationships to ensure seamless integration of new business and continued customer satisfaction;
- Meeting and exceeding monthly qualified opportunities and territory contribution targets; and
- Participating in exhibitions and other customer events as appropriate.
- Visit client premises and operations to complete site surveys and determine customer needs, objectives, and requirements;
- Foster a collaborative relationship with regional and branch leadership, project team and business development team members on strategic sales approach to support growth;
- Prepare and support development of technically accurate sales quotes, customer proposals and contracts;
- Steward safety leadership in all work activities to support achievement of the organization’s safety objectives and targets; and adhere to safety standards, policies and procedures established in the HSE system.
- Technical training in the fire and/or life safety or related fields supplemented with sales or business development experience, or a business degree supplemented with experience in industrial sales is preferred;
- Demonstrated experience within the fire protection and detection market, life safety or other industrial product/service business;
- Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, coupled with excel, excellent listening skills and a positive, professional, and energetic presence;
- Savvy networking skills; the talent to research, develop and expand accounts and territory, and the ability to leverage innovative ideas and relationships to generate new business opportunities;
- Passion for building strong, enduring relationships with current and prospective customers;
- Ability to identify client needs and target selling strategies to meet those needs;
- Organized and detail-oriented;
- Demonstrated success in prospecting for clients;
- Extremely self-motivated with a diligent work ethic;
- High level of integrity and strong commitment to delivering high quality outcomes and superior customer service;
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment; and
- Experience with client outreach tools (e.g., LinkedIn Sales Navigator, HubSpot etc.)

You must also possess a valid driver’s license and be able to travel to remote client sites and other operating locations. Overtime may be necessary; therefore, flexibility in hours of work will be required as well as an ability to accommodate overnight travel as needed.
