**Position Description**:

The Program Manager is responsible for the leadership and oversight of two clinical programs: the Youth Wellness Centre (located off-site at 38 James St S) and the Eating Disorders Clinic at the West 5th Campus.

The Program Manager manages all program components and is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of referral/intake processes, clinical triage decisions, clinical patient flow, transition/discharge processes, and effective working relationships with key community partners. The Program Manager has a breadth of clinical expertise in triaging referrals and leading quality improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the services outlined above. The Program Manager builds partnerships (both internal and external) to support the successful operation of the programs, including participation at local and provincial networks. The Program Manager ensures the programs under their leadership are aligned with the mission, vision, and values of the organization and the strategic plan.

The Youth Wellness Centre is an off-site, community-linked program that will require additional responsibilities re: rental space management, liaising with Alternatives for Youth (as a sub-leasor sharing the space) and other child/youth services, liaising with the Youth Advisory Council, and managing multiple grants through the SJHH Foundation.

The Program Manager may oversee other programs as new initiatives emerge within the Mental Health and Addictions Program as needs are dynamic. The Program Manager participates in corporate activities and committees and provides coverage to other Program Managers as needed including on call duties.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Master's Degree in a health related discipline required
- PhD in a health related discipline preferred
- Registered health related professional required
- Minimum 3 years experience at a management/leadership level supervising multiple programs/initiative within a healthcare setting
- Extensive experience managing a busy and complex office environment, delivering on deadlines and meeting established goals
- Experience in a community-based MHA setting, preferred
- Experience working in a mental health setting with youth, understanding of the importance of developmentally-tailored services, and of the principles of youth-centered care
- Demonstrated ability to form effective working relationships with key community partner agencies, including on jointly-offered programming and/or shared space
- Professional development/training in principles of equity, diversity and inclusion, and ability to operationalize those principles into the development and maintenance of clinical services
- Well-developed complex problem-solving skills, a capacity to develop unique solutions and think critically and comprehend highly complex material
- Demonstrates leadership skills including conflict resolution and decision-making skills
- Experience with managing an off-site location, including with tenant-landlord issues, security, and health and safety
- Demonstrates superior understanding of systems, systems analysis techniques, value analysis process and continuous improvement principles and tools
- Demonstrates excellence in interpersonal, communication, coaching, mentoring and team-building skills that facilitate positive interactions among all members of the interdisciplinary health care team
- Ability to introduce and effectively facilitate change
- Ability to build relationship and collaborate with key stakeholders, including service users
- Superior written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal, verbal communication and public speaking skills are required
- Superior partnership building skills to ensure successful operation of services in collaboration with other stakeholders (internal and external)
- Effectively translate detail into verbal, written or graphical updates
- Advanced knowledge of the MS Office Suite of products is required including Word, PowerPoint, Access and Excel
- Advanced knowledge of management and leadership principles in an interdisciplinary health care environment
- Demonstrates the ability to provide leadership, support and critical analysis in stressful, complex clinical and emotional situations
