As a Purser you will create an outstanding guest experience onboard Kingston 1000 Islands Cruises’ public cruises and exclusive events by leading and organizing a team of Servers and Bartenders to efficiently and professionally execute Hospitality Operations on board our vessels. You will also assist marine crew in emergency duties tasks, and participate in other onboard tasks including setup, cleaning and other duties as needed.

**Season**: This is a spring-summer-fall seasonal position. The Kingston 1000 Islands Cruises operating season begins in late April, and ends in late October.

**Qualifications**:

- Positive attitude.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.
- Smart-Serve certified.
- Outstanding communication proficiency in English.
- Proficiency in other languages is an asset.
- Heavy lifting and other demanding physical work occasionally required.
- Previous experience in a management role is required for this position.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead and organize a team of Servers and Bartenders during shift.
- Complete all setup tasks and ensure the boat is ready for service.
- Greet and assist guests during boarding and disembarking.
- Maintain an excellent knowledge of food and beverage items, allergens, cook times, stock on hand.
- Ensure that proper cash out procedures are followed/floats are accurate.
- Accurately expedite, fill out and collect all required paperwork (forms, guest evaluations, cleaning lists, deposits).
- Assess restocking requirements for boats and communicate to department leads to have the requisitions filled.
- Consistently meet and exceed standards for service timing and service excellence.
- Become proficient in operation and management of Point-of-Sale software/related devices.
- Participate in safety drills and become familiar with the company Safety Management System (SMS).
- Anticipate and respond to guests’ needs: exceed expectations, create an outstanding experience.
