**PRIMARY FUNCTION**:
An Organizational Development Advisor uses knowledge and expertise to improve organizational performance, reinforce culture, and build capacity for leaders and staff. This will be achieved through the design and deployment of programs and tools in the domains of leadership, learning, performance, and organizational development. An Organizational Development Advisor also provides organizational development guidance, advisory, coaching expertise, and strategic consultative services to facilitate the development of highly effective leaders and interprofessional teams.

An Organizational Development Advisor also has broader responsibilities in the areas of learning design and facilitation, performance development, recognition, and employee engagement activities supported by the department and could be expected to perform tasks at both KHSC and Providence Care.

**RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES INCLUDE**:
**Consultant**

Within our larger integrated talent management framework:

- Manages the process and supports the onboarding of new people leaders from (pre-start to two years) providing coaching and supports where applicable.
- Assists with the talent review process and succession planning framework.
- Provides management development through cohort training and when consulting projects suggest training as a solution.
- Works collaboratively with clients in management and leadership coaching, leadership development, strategic planning, change management, and team development.

**Design and Developer**

Design, develop, and deploy additional programming within our Leadership Development Framework.
- Conducts organizational needs assessments and analysis using data-based methodologies (qualitative and quantitative), identify critical issues, root causes, assess client needs, and recommend, design and/or implement appropriate solutions and interventions.
- Manages project timelines, reports on progress, and drives creation of selected deliverables.
- Facilitates leadership development programs.

**Strategist and Integrator**
- Diagnoses, analyzes and provides direction regarding impediments to excellence in performance, service, behaviour, and culture.
- Creates strategies and tactics to assist in resolution of issues through organization development interventions.
- Designs, develops, and delivers programs that build employee and organizational effectiveness including those related to strategic planning, employee engagement, leadership development, leadership alignment, performance management, and change management and organization design.
- Leads retreats with management, facilitates focus groups, and work groups in identifying problem cause and solutions, management coaching, training, and further assessments and analysis.

**Change**
- Provides best practice guidance, advisory, and strategic consultative services to support leaders and teams in the successful implementation of change.
- Guides effective change leadership behaviours, collaborate with leadership, and advise on change management approaches and tools. Support leaders and teams in becoming more change receptive and resilient.
- To improve overall effectiveness of the organization, supports, designs, delivers, and evaluates custom interventions on change management; strategic planning; conflict resolution/mediation; coaching teams and leaders; staff engagement; mission/vision definition; and clarifying team roles.

**Business Advisor**
- Acts as a resource to the People Services team to complete organizational development interventions (including diagnosing of issues, facilitation of team-building exercises, conflict resolution, etc.).
- Delivers services to enhance individual, team (including work groups), and organizational performance and build organizational capability including requests for performance management.

**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Requires completion of University degree or equivalent.
- Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience, preferably in healthcare or the public sector.
- Post-graduate degree, certificate or diploma in Design, Organizational Behaviour or Organizational Development preferred.
- Proven experience and competence in organizational development domains.
- Strong consulting and advisory skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively build relationships and interact with others at all levels in the organization.
- Highly developed communication skills.
- Expertise in instructional design and the competencies of performance and learning.
- Coaching designation - leadership, ICF certified an asset.
