The Financial Wellness Partner - Bankruptcy, administers bankruptcy files, analyzes and resolves various bankruptcy matters in a proactive manner utilizing established department procedures while understanding the impact of the job on affected accounts and affected functional areas. Interaction with Clients and other team members is required frequently to carry out the duties of this role.
Key Accountabilities
- Adhere to BIA and OSB Directives relating to the administration of Bankruptcy Estates regarding compliance of filing/reporting deadlines.
- Document all Estate Administration information according to BSI’s Best Practices and guidelines.
- Prepare reports following legislative guidelines for the Licensed Insolvency Trustee and the Court.
- Open Court file for Ordinary Estates by preparing cheque and sending Notice to Creditors and the Court.
- Open court files and sends documents to the court as required.
- Coordinate with various courthouses to schedule monthly court dates and hearings.
- Process the Client’s information by using applicable insolvency software.
- Prepare the Client’s file with quality per documented BSI Best Practice for monitoring/administration of the estate. The file is not handed over to any other department; the Estate Administrator handles the file from post sign-up to completion of the Bankruptcy Estate.
- Make recommendations to the Trustee with relation to a Bankrupt’s discharge.
- Provide and receive information from a variety of stakeholders i.e. Clients, Creditors, Trustee, OSB.
- Model and promote BSI’s organizational culture, purpose and values.
- Champion and foster a climate of diversity and inclusion.
**Education, Knowledge & Skills**:
- Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree in a related field
- Completion or working towards completing the Insolvency Administrator Qualification Course
- Two or more years of relevant work experience in either Insolvency, Finance, Credit counseling or Legal areas
- Working knowledge of an Insolvency software or industry specific software
- Understanding or ability to learn quickly in regard to legislation such as the BIA
- Strong Client Service skills
