**Job Title: Mainframe Production Support**
**Job location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid, 3 days onsite)**

**JOB DESCRIPTION**:
We are seeking for Mainframe Production Support with experience of COBOL, DB2 and IMS.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Use monitoring tools to detect and address performance issues or failures.
- Respond promptly to system alerts, incidents, and outages.
- Diagnose and resolve production issues, ensuring mínimal disruption to business operations.
- Escalate issues to the appropriate teams when necessary and follow through until resolution.
- Manage and monitor batch job schedules using job scheduling tools (e.g., CA-7, Control-M).
- Ensure that jobs complete successfully and troubleshoot any job failures.
- Analyze system performance and implement tuning changes to optimize performance.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks
- Perform regular backups of mainframe data and systems.
- Develop and test disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and system availability in case of failure.

**REQUIRED SKILLS**
- Associate to have a mainframe experience of 6 or more years.
- Experience in Production support with on call rotation.
- Should have IMS working experience and good knowledge on regular IMS and DB2 COBOL modules.
- Should have good knowledge in writing JCLs SORT and ICETOOL.
- Should have an experience in providing design decisions soloving production job failures implementing a medium to major projects into production.
- Should be able to write SAS FOCUS jobs to do any quick reporting and or quick production data fixes.
- Should have knowledge in crafting and handling VSAM datasets and logic for reading writing data from VSAM files. Knowledge on PEM REXX and DevOps tools will be an added advantage
