**The Opportunity**

As the Community Volunteer Engagement and Events Coordinator, you will play an important role in planning and executing a wide range of special events and engaging activities for the youth and volunteers. This dynamic position requires collaboration with various departments, community partners, and volunteers to design and implement events that create a sense of belonging and empowerment. From cooking workshops to holiday events, your creativity and passion will be integral to our mission's success. This position will also manage all aspects of the volunteer program.

**_ What you will be responsible for:_**

**_ Community Engagement and Events_**
- Collaborate with program staff to curate and select activities based on evaluation data, client feedback, and the interests of our youth.
- Assist in the planning of events by securing volunteer facilitators and appropriate venue spaces.
- Conduct venue site visits, create and promote marketing materials, coordinate food and beverage (if required), oversee set-up and decor, and coordinate facilitators and entertainment.
- Utilize your considerable experience in planning and executing special events and projects to ensure their success.
- Maintain consistent and effective communication with team members.
- Demonstrate strong budgeting, written, and oral communication skills.
- Utilize web-based programs such as LinkedIn and Volunteer Toronto to expand our network and support base.
- Monitor event attendance and perform ongoing analysis to assess the effectiveness of each event.
- Develop long term objectives for all events in keeping with the department’s strategic direction.
- Identify collaboration opportunities and/or work with partners.

**_Volunteer Management_**
- Advocate for volunteer involvement, and promote volunteer opportunities and contributions amongst stakeholders, including partnerships.
- Support the volunteers with on-site and in-person volunteer needs, showcasing a high degree of initiative and the ability to excel with mínimal supervision.
- Develop and implement the recruitment and screening for potential volunteers to ensure the best match between the skills, qualification, and interests of the volunteers and the needs of the organization.
- Ensure the volunteer program remains high-impact, effective and efficient, and take into account the complex needs of the service recipients.
- Provide day-to-day supervision of volunteers, ensuring quality task performance as well as continuous learning and growth.
- Establish good lines of communication and timely communications with volunteers to create good working relationships.
- Maintain confidential, accurate and current volunteer records, including complete and thorough documentation for each client contact, in compliance with relevant privacy legislation and in accordance with professional standards and internal policies.
- Research and develop a new volunteer management program (including the development of volunteer policies and procedures)
- Provide all services within an understanding of anti-oppression, anti-Black and Indigenous racism, diversity, LGBTQ+ positive and anti-poverty values and principles.
