Job Description

The TNG Community Services is seeking a skilled professional to fill the position of Manager, Development and Marketing. This role plays a vital part in advancing our mission by leveraging innovative strategies to drive financial growth, foster partnerships, and amplify our impact.

About TNG Community Services:

TNG Community Services is an anti-poverty social agency that has been serving low-income individuals and families across Toronto for over four decades. Our comprehensive approach addresses pressing issues such as poverty, homelessness, mental health, unemployment, and social isolation. As a member of our management team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our efforts and make a tangible difference in the lives of those we serve.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive annual giving program, incorporating direct marketing campaigns, digital appeals, personalized outreach, video storytelling, and other creative touchpoints to inspire donors and drive financial contributions.
  • Work closely with the department to grow the annual and monthly portfolio, identify opportunities to upgrade annual donations, and develop tailored stewardship programs for monthly and one-time donors.
  • Lead the delivery of special events, including the TNG Challenge, third-party events, corporate volunteerism, and the internal United Way campaign.
  • Collaborate with the communications team to create engaging, persuasive content for various fundraising campaigns, ensuring alignment with our mission and values.
  • Maintain accurate donor records, identifying impactful stories and data to highlight our work and support website updates, social media channel content, and other communications materials.
  • Supervise the Communications Officer, providing coaching, work plan development, and evaluation.
  • Participate as a member of TNGCS's management team and act as a leader on the Development and Communications team.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary diploma/degree in Volunteer Management, Fundraising, Not-for-Profit Management, Business, Communications, or related field.
  • Minimum three years of demonstrated success in a fundraising role within a comparable environment, with some supervisory experience an asset.
  • Proven expertise in executing comprehensive direct marketing programs, including developing and delivering innovative digital and social media strategies.
  • Experience with donor database management systems and/or Customer Relationship Management software (CRM) with strong experience using data and reporting to drive recommendations and decision-making.
  • Brings a passion for our mission and vision, with a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to foster relationships with individuals and organizations.
  • Strong emotional intelligence, good judgment, planning, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple demands and tight timelines.
  • Superior communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills, with proficiency in MS Office, social media, and database management tools.
  • Ability to communicate in French or another language representative of TNGCS clients is an asset.

Benefits Package:

  • A competitive salary range of $67,520-$75,960 per annum.
  • A comprehensive extended health benefits package, including a discretionary health benefit.
  • A 35-hour workweek, comp time accrual, and access to Multi-Sector Pension Plan after 520 hours worked.
  • Four weeks (20 days) vacation plus five float days per calendar year and accrual of 1.5 sick days each month to a maximum accrual of 90 days.
